To create solutions to social and economic disparities through education, by providing academic scholarships to the next leaders of the developing world.
Solutions Through Education Scholarship Foundation is a non profit organization founded with the goal of providing financial support to an incoming freshman student who displays great financial need, strong academic standing, leadership qualities, and has the desire to make a difference in their community.
There is a great need for educational support for many gifted high school students who cannot afford to pay for college. This need is urgent in Jamaica where social and economic unrest hinder growth and development. For many students, college is not an option due to lack of exposure or access to the necessary financial support. Without education and the growth and opportunities it creates, sub-standard socioeconomic conditions will prevail and crime and violence will continue to plague not only the island of Jamaica, but other countries of the developing world as well.
Doing our part to support the education of one child may mean contributing to the development of the world's next great lawyer, doctor, engineer or leader. Â It may mean supporting the education of a future entrepreneur who will create jobs for many people. It may also mean assisting with the academic resources needed to allow a young engineer or scientist to flourish and provide for his/her family and his/her community.
We welcome any donation amount, no matter how small or large. If you become a donor, we will keep you informed with the names and background of the student recipients and their academic and extracurricular progress during their tertiary level education and beyond.
